Lynx Entertainment’s KiDi has released the music video for the remix of his chart-topping highlife number, Odo.
The song features Afropop icon Davido and protege Mayorkun of Mama fame. In a recent interview with ENEWSGH, KiDi described the events that led to the collaboration a great chance afforded him by life. He also held that the partnership would afford him ample reach that accompanied being on a record with Davido.
To critics who berated him for recording a remix instead of an original track with the African superstar, KiDi (born Dennis Nana Dwamena) clarified that while he would relish an opportunity to work on an original joint with the “30 billion” man, that chance has not presented itself as Davido reached out to him with a verse specifically for a remix of Odo.
Davido’s interest to lend vocals on Odo most likely arose as a result of KiDi referencing the “3o billion” phrase in Davido’s If on his song.
The video, shot on location in Nigeria, is directed by Directed by Twitch.
